Though born in Southern California, Andy Finkle split his childhood between the Hudson Valley region of New York and the foothills of South Carolina. He currently resides on the outskirts of Ithaca, NY where he paints monsters in the basement.
Finkle gladly takes on commissions and on occasion will pander to his surroundings. For the most part though, he paints what he wants to. This usually ends up being sad monsters or animals displaying bad habits.
The public access show, Andy Finkle Draws Monsters or Something features Finkle drawing mostly monsters from his mobile studio (a 2001 Chevy Astro). It can also be seen on YouTube.
Finkle values the people he has met through art and enjoys collaborations. He is thrilled to have multiple pieces in the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine. His work has been on deep cable, in various publications, and on four continents. He’s always looking for new and unconventional ways to get his art out.
